About the Role

Evolution IT Services is seeking a personable, self-directed IT technician to support small and medium-sized business clients across Central Oregon. This freelance role offers flexible hours, full technician-level system access, and an environment built on autonomy and professionalism.

Whether you’re onsite or remote, you’ll help businesses keep their systems running smoothly—without the micromanagement.

 

Responsibilities

 

    • Configure and troubleshoot email systems (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace)
    • Diagnose and optimize Wi-Fi and local network performance
    • Support VoIP systems and perform basic setup and diagnostics
    • Assist with cloud-based applications (CRMs, file sharing, remote work tools)
    • Install and upgrade hardware, software, and Wi-Fi systems
    • Define and address software, hardware, and networking needs
    • Perform hardware/software tests and repairs
    • Travel locally to client sites
    • Communicate professionally with clients in person and remotely

We support clients within a 60-mile radius of Bend and Redmond, Oregon. Local availability is a must. While some support is remote, many clients prefer onsite work.

    • This is a 1099 contractor position (not W-2 employment)
    • Hours can fluctuate significantly—some weeks are light, others intensive
